Walter Isaacson: Steve Jobs se arrepintió de no haberse operado antes

Steve Jobs' official biographer, Walter Isaacson, appears on 60 Minutes this Sunday Night on CBS. Isaacson drops some real bombshells in the interview. He interviewed Jobs forty times, including several times just before he died. Jobs said he wanted to set the record straight about many things.

The most shocking revelation is that Jobs refused early surgery on the islet tumor found on his pancreas, which he later regretted. Instead, he went to spiritualists, adopted a macrobiotic diet and tried other, alternative remedies. His wife and family were distraught and finally got him to have the surgery nine months later. By that time, the cancer had spread.

Isaacson asked Jobs why he didn't do the surgery earlier as his doctors recommended and Jobs replied: "I didn't want my body to be opened...I didn't want to be violated in that way." 60 Minutes' Steve Kroft asked Isaacson how such an an intelligent man could make such a seemingly stupid decision and Isaacson replies, "I think that he kind of felt that if you ignore something, if you don't want something to exist, you can have magical thinking...we talked about this a lot. He wanted to talk about it, how he regretted it....I think he felt he should have been operated on sooner."

  1. ¡Grande Agustina!!!!
